Dr. Gil
Dr. Gil Magilen has a unique science background for a clinical hearing aid provider. He received a Ph.D. in Biophysics from the University of California, Berkeley, an M.S. in Biology from Long Island University and a B.S. in Natural Science from Iowa Wesleyan College. After earning a Ph.D. he spent 5 years conducting neuroscience research at the University of California, San Francisco Medical Center, funded by the National Institute on Aging. An interest in hearing problems and the brain took him from the laboratory into the clinic. Dr. Magilen has been at the forefront of modern developments in hearing assistance technology for over 25 years.
A continuous student of cognitive neuroscience, Dr. Gil is a lecturer and author of articles on the use of scientific technologies for the complex task of tuning hearing aids to maximize user satisfaction. He received a patent from the United States Patent and Trademark Office pertaining to the objective clinical fine-tuning of hearing aids for the hearing impaired. Dr. Gil is committed to transforming the hearing aid industry from a sales and delivery system into a profession that responsibly applies sound processing technologies to individual needs.
In 1982, Dr. Gil opened a hearing aid office in downtown Vallejo. He moved his office to Walnut Creek in 2003.
